Our Services
Sewer Line Installation & Replacement
Traditional open-cut sewer line installation and full replacement — permitted, inspected, and built to last.
Serving South Bay, Los Angeles, Long Beach & surrounding cities
When Trenchless Isn't Enough — We Dig It Right
Trenchless methods are excellent for many sewer repairs, but some situations call for traditional open-cut excavation: a completely collapsed line, severely offset pipe, end-of-life clay or Orangeburg pipe, or a brand-new sewer connection for a new structure. When that is the case, GLPS Sewer Services provides complete sewer line installation and replacement using time-tested open-cut methods.
We handle the entire job — camera inspection, permits, excavation, proper pipe bedding, new PVC installation at the correct grade, city inspection, and surface restoration. One crew, one call, done right.

- Clay, cast iron, or Orangeburg pipe at end of life

- City-required sewer lateral upgrade or replacement
- Repeated backups that trenchless cannot resolve

Our Installation Process — Step by Step
Every sewer line installation follows the same proven process — no shortcuts, no surprises.
Camera Inspection & Diagnosis
Before any digging begins, we run a high-definition sewer camera through the line to pinpoint the exact location and extent of damage — collapsed sections, root intrusion, offset joints, or deteriorated pipe material. This eliminates guesswork and scopes the job precisely.
Permits & Municipal Coordination
We pull all required city and county permits and coordinate with your local municipality before breaking ground. Every installation is planned to meet current plumbing and building codes — protecting you from future liability.
Excavation to Pipe Depth
Our crew excavates a trench along the planned route to the required depth — typically 4 to 8 feet for residential laterals. We shore and protect the trench to OSHA standards and carefully expose the existing pipe and connection points.
Pipe Bedding & New Line Installation
We prepare a proper sand or gravel bed at the correct grade, then lay new schedule 40 PVC or ABS pipe at the precise slope required for gravity flow — typically 1/4 inch per foot. Proper bedding and slope are what make a sewer line last decades.
Connection to City Main or Septic
The new lateral is connected to the city sewer main at the property line or to your septic system. We make watertight connections using approved fittings and verify the connection meets municipal tap-in requirements.
Inspection, Backfill & Restoration
A city or county inspector signs off on the installation before we backfill. We compact the trench in lifts to prevent settling, then restore the surface — whether that is concrete, asphalt, pavers, or landscaping.
